i have been very busy the last couple of months. I wrote a short story to submit to writers of the future, so we’ll see what happens with that. Then I wrote an paranormal romance novella I plan to release this fall sometime. It’s a gay love story with ghosts! Very different than anything I’ve ever written before, not least because it takes on modern day earth.
Between The Sacred Stars, Broken Stars Book 4, is with the editor now. She’s supposed to be done with it by September 1st and I still need to commission a cover and get it formatted, so I’m hoping to release it in october sometime. I’m very excited about this one. This is the keystone in the series and the ending changes everything.
I’m in the final third of the first draft of Blood of Shadows, Wings of Light. This is the first book in The Ascension Apocalypse, which is an urban Fantasy series. I hope to have this book out in January sometime but that’s going to depend on a lot of factors, not all of which I have complete control of. But I can’t wait to introduce you to this story world and these characters.
in other professional news, I’m sticking with Amazon exclusivity for the rest of the Broken Stars books, but for everything else new I put out I’m going to release wide. The only reason I’m sticking with Amazon for the BS books is because I don’t want to abandon the Kindle Unlimited Readers, of which there are more than a few. For everything else, though, I want to be available everywhere so I’m either going to publish through Draft2Digital or Ingram Spark. I haven’t decided which yet. Besides being available in all the ebook stores, including Kindle, Nook, Apple, and Kobo, it means anyone can go to their local independent bookstore and order a physical copy through them. This is important to me. Amazon was a great way to get my feet wet in indie publishing, and I’m still probably going to sell most of the books there, but I don’t want to depend on them for my entire career. More eggs, more baskets.
anyway, that’s what’s going on! I have been busy even though I haven’t put anything new out since last November. That should be changing soon. To thank you for reading through all of that, here is a picture of my newish cat, Eowyn, aka the world’s shittiest personal assistant.
also, in case anyone’s interested, I have remodeled my office, and here’s what it looks like now!
new desk, new printer stand (new printer) new screen. Lots of upgrades. Not pictured is the huge whiteboard I put on the opposite wall.
So thanks for bearing with me. Cool stuff is coming soon from Chadco Worldwide Media.
